About Wild Joy Gardens

Hi, I'm Kristy — a Master Gardener, Certified California Native Plant Landscaper, and the person behind Wild Joy Gardens.

I've been gardening for over 15 years, but my love for plants started long before that, growing up with an apple orchard and fields of wildflowers around my family home in the Sierra Nevada foothills. That early connection to the land is what eventually led me to California native plants — and I've never looked back. They belong here, they support wildlife, and when you design with them, you get a garden that feels genuinely alive and very Californian.

When I'm not designing gardens, you'll find me spending time with my family at the beach or in the mountains, thrifting linen and silk for natural plant dyeing, or traveling somewhere with exceptional gardens. I've made pilgrimages to Monet's garden at Giverny and Hilma af Klint's exhibit at the Guggenheim in New York — because for me, plants and art have always been part of the same conversation.

I serve homeowners across LA and Orange Counties who want a landscape they can feel good about. When we work together, you can expect clear guidance, real expertise, and someone who genuinely loves this work.
